A gushing fountain of water was coming from a sheared hydrant Tuesday after a Mini Cooper crashed into it in Whittier. The crash happened shortly after 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of Virginia Avenue and Carmenita Road, in front of a residential home. It was unclear what caused the crash that left the light blue Mini on a curb in front of the hydrant. Crews from the Los Angeles County Fire Department were working to turn off the water. It was unclear if anyone was injured in the crash. No further details were available.
Insult to injury: the trajectory of old faithful meant that the driver, fresh off his shunt, got a soaking when exiting the vehicle.
Insult to injury: Driver will be fined $1000 for wasting all that water in LA while West LA is on Fire. Why can't Californians figure out that large ass blue ocean that runs from one end of the state to the other end can be used to put out fires? You don't have to use pure Evian to put out forest fires. Fire does not care if the water has salt in it.
But the soil and flora does. The native plants would abandon all hope. You do make a solid point, they've got lots of ocean front property and desalinization works real good.
They are not allowed to build reservoirs because it will flood some endangered sand. They can't build desalinization plants because ocean front property costs a bunch. So you live in a desert and it burns. It's just choices.
So, it's true, and therefore worth repeating then. "If attacked by a mob of clowns, go for the juggler."
Yes, especially if it's covered in dry weeds. Everything burns if it's hot enough. I could be wrong, there might be something that doesn't. Not fire proof but fire resistant.
