Sorry to hear of your troubles. Glad to hear it is covered!
-
Very lucky indeed. the guy at Baron ran the vin and told us that it is covered under roadside for another 2-3 months. And sense it only has just over 20k miles there wasn't a problem. When I called roadside they asked for the vin and color, then asked the address. They had to update the address.... All in all I'm very shocked, and glad, the warranty held like this.

Wonder if having a temperature gauge might have warned the OP in time to save the engine?
MINI - pennywise and pound foolish.......
I've been a strong proponent of the brand, but even I'm starting to wonder if keeping my 09 S is a good move when it goes out of warranty.... -
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing about the temp gauge. I think when it returns I'll be I investing in a duel gauge pod for temp and boost. I'm ecstatic that everything is covered, its just the having to wait for the engine to be shipped from Germany, one would assume there would be a few replacement jcw engines already in the states. Guess they were so sure about it they didn't see a need for any.

Might want to consider the scangaugeII for the temp and other gauges.

Baron estimates 10-12 days until the return of our mini. The engine is in transit from Germany, slight layover in customs (to ensure its not a bomb I assume), then on to Kansas. The service advisor said it would roughly take a full day to swap the engines. I'm thinking more like 2-3 days. All of my aftermarket will be reinstalled on the new engine. One couldn't ask for a better group of people. I'm rather ticked about the lack of a rental while this is going on, but I can't ***** too much getting a new engine.

we got the mini back a few days ago. Big difference when the compression is up where it should be. I've put about 300 miles on the new motor so I'm not really getting the boost up allot our taking the revs too high just yet. I've ordered the aero rear bumper cover and having it painted at Baron. Hot side boost tube installed, messed a bit with the accessport, and did some cutting to fit the m7 front strut bar with the Alta cold air. I was informed by Baron that there was no spacer plates behind the front rims. I'm in the process of finding some.
All in all the car is running great, still cornering like a champ, and almost too much fun to drive.... Almost. -
