I've never heard of/seen that either. Some period racing mod?

The boss it threads into is part of the drop gears housing, has to be a factory casting unless someone welded it on there. I'll know more when I split the engine off the transmission case and get a better look at it.....

I'll be watching this one for sure! When color picking time comes, remember you've got a guy who has an eye for that kind of thing...

Several, actually....but I appreciate all the input! A friend has sent me to House of Kolor to look at paints that have a lot of pop and sparkle, as well as color saturation. I'm also impressed with some of Mazda's and Ford's paints lately, just looking at cars I find in parking lots.
Still don't know where to start, but that's a long ways off. What I do know is that I don't want the same thing I see at all the Mini gatherings, this car will be different enough under the skin that I want the paint to stand out too - nothing weird, but something bright and eye catching.
Who knows, I may just wind up painting it Chili red with a white roof! -

Ford Blue with White accents.

I said no Pink!
Besides, this is as much as a year away.......plenty of time to look around. -

Ford's Grabber Blue, with a sky blue candy... White roof, and large center stripe on the hood with a 1/4" Dodge Header Orange outline spaced 1/8" from the white on the hood... Maybe some stuff ghosted into the blue body. [emoji2][emoji12]

Took the old dash apart and removed the full complement of Stewart Warner gauges....oil press, oil temp, water temp, fuel press, volt meter and of all things, a VDO clock - which btw, still works!
The dash also had 5 toggle switches and 6 fuse holders in a neat row on the right side - surprise! - none of them were wired up to anything! :biggrin5:
The only things I need to do yet are remove the old exhaust system that's all welded together and the remote shifter, then it's ready to head to Tulsa town.....Attached Files:

The plan now is to move the 67 S down to Tulsa on Thursday, and assess the other car for needed repairs and modifications, but leave it in Tulsa till I have the donor car here and the engine and other parts removed.
Once I have the donor car stripped I'll go back to Tulsa and bring the new project car up to my shop and begin the install....
Still haven't found a donor car, there are a couple of 3 cyl Focus, but no 3 cyl Fiestas right now..... -

Here's another site: http://www.ridesafely.com/en/salvage-car-auction-search/ford/fiesta?cntc=US&yf=2011&yt=2017&pg=1
Unfortunately, it doesn't let you search by engine size, so you have to click on each one to see what is is. -

Thanks for those, I've only been looking on Copart......that second site was particularly useful as it shows the bids on the cars - they're going for a lot more $$$$$ than I ever expected!
All the 3 cyl cars on the first site were sticks, I want an Auto - tho I may have to change that if I can't find one, and those on the second site were all 4cyl, tho there were some local KCK cars on that one. -

Today I delivered the 67 Cooper S down to the body restoration shop, tho it will be months before he can even touch it as he has so much work already in the shop and booked ahead.
Another A series came in for a rebuild too......this is an early 1100 - note the road draft tube coming off the tappet cover?
I have at least two more booked in before the end of the year, one is a Sprite motor tho......
