Yeah....swapping motors was once kinda easy...but with integration, that ended...
Have seen VW swaps were the entire instrument cluster is even used in the new car...and EVERYTHING is transplanted to make the swap happen......avoids a $2000 standalone. For some its ok, but less than ideal.

 

I used to have one. I loved it, but I'm glad I extended the warranty.

2K doesn't sound to bad for a stand-alone ECU if you can use off the shelf dash gauges with less time involved with the "mating" of the busses.......

 

This is going to be an extremely interesting build.

 

Just looked up the flares and they do look to be big. Will you start work on some of the body mods now or wait until you have the engine/transmission on site ??

 

It’s ok … you’re getting older and you miss things or you’re more forgetful.

 

I’ve enjoyed and learned a lot from all your projects but this one should prove to be very special.

 

To see it there on a wooden pallet come to life just adds to the excitement this project.

I give a lot of credit to those who have learned to change programing in today’s cars as it’s definitely way over my abilities.
