Found an interesting R55/R56 anomaly. Grab the hand brake to turn the car & bong bong bong. What the heck, I knew I was using the handbrake to turn. Damn nanny is a scaredicat sissy.
rrr: The R55 turns wonderfully on the handbrake, it's just that blasted noise maker. :incazzato:

A lot depends on the tires, type of snow and snow depth.
Now that I have gone to a winter tire on mine it's a blast to drive in the snow. With the summer tires it had before, not so much. -

And also whether or not the DSC is on or not.

I've found (based on recommendations here) that turning DSC off vastly improves the drivability in snow.

This.
Stock runflats suck in the snow. No road-response -
This will help. http://www.motoringalliance.com/forums/wheels-tires-sale/16430-fs-complete-set-winter-wheels-tires.html. Ive got a great set of wheels and tires for sale off my 2005 R50 that I sold this past year. They are in great shape. Work well in the snow.

The ABS or DSC tried to intervene on a handbrake turn? I would have thought the mechanical connection takes priority over the electronics.
I have noticed the DSC make it drive a little strange. I've gotten to realize that it is the DSC kicking in even thou the light didn't come on. The light is kind of late. I think I will be trying with it off now. -
Crashton Club CoordinatorNo it is not the DSC intervening. Just a nanny reminding me that the handbrake is on. Does the same DSC on or off. Thankfully my R53 stays quiet no matter what I do.
My R53 has no DSC.
