actually, the quality of product Mini has manufactured has improved steadily and remarkably since the R53's (again, if we are to believe any of this, there were NO complaints in '02, '03, and '04?). Since we all seem to fire away with comments (obviously slanted AGAINST the 56's), lets really see what it says. 427 complaints in 2012? I am thrilled to death, especially since I own a 2012 MCS. Production in 2012 surpassed 230,000 cars. In previous years, there were 700 complaints per 100,000 cars manufactured. I see a dramatic improvement. I see it in this article, and I see it (and a lot of you) in my rear view mirror with a faster bone-stock 0-60 and 1/4 mile time than any previous year. Just sayin.
Look at it this way, at least the new model designation starts with an F, as in the school grade or the often offending four letter word. If the shoe fits.....
