At the past two Mini Meet East Meets West events (Winona and Milwaukee) they've allowed non-registrants who show up on Saturday to be part of the panoramic photo...albeit and understandably relegated to the back rows.

To hang out doesn't cost anything but you'll miss out on the food and cool loot. There is a Enthusiast registration option also.

None of the stuff Saturday is at the hotel lot. The photo is at an airfield in Prospect and the picnic is at Leads farm.

I will check on the time for Saturday morning. I'll also check on a cost for food at the farm and getting a photo.

So we discussed the idea of a Saturday only registration. The thought is be in on the photo and get lunch at the picnic for something like $35. Another option is is be in on the photo and get lunch at the picnic and get the loot bag for $55.

Understand that part of the cost is insurance, and the associated cost to organize the event.

    What do you guys think?

I don't understand how they can justify their pricing. Their prices have jumped a lot since the MME shindig in Dayton.

Before someone does all the work to make that possible, find out how many people plan on coming late. No sense doing a lot of extra work for folks who aren't coming. I hope folks chime in here & let you know.

I don't set the pricing but I know what costs are at this point. I can tell you no one is making a bunch of money on this.

Mini Meet West prices are higher.

MMW is, well West and I don't plan to go there. I've done MME in Dublin, Dayton and Frederick, MD, and the pricings were, at that time, way lower than what I have seen on the MME website in Columbus. I guess it comes down to what you want to do while there.

Insurance costs are huge for any event Jeff. In our very litigious society you'd have to be crazy to host an event without insurance in place. You never know when someones lawyer will come calling for some perceived wrong.

To be truthful I have no idea what the costs are. I just pointed out one that I know is big. As time goes on all costs for all things have gone up. MME is close to home & that should save you a few coins.

Maybe you can volunteer to help the organizers find ways to save money?

If I volunteered, I'd have to rub noses with you know who and that ain't gonna happen. I managed to get an application but am weighing all the pricing before sending it in...heck, I have until the end of May to decide to go or not. I'm really only interested in showing the car, not particularly interested in the rest.

Don't really have an opinion on the price (attendance numbers will ultimately determine if it was over priced or not), but the idea of a mail in registration seems archaic in this day and age.

I think a fair number of Mini owners are not afraid to mail something in.

Maybe we can sell tickets to a Welsh guys grudge match. Proceeds going to charity. How about it Jeff? It's for charity after all.

The Welsh guy isn't interested in a grudge match. Things were said by each of us during that fray. Time passes and he has probably forgotten all about me. Not that I care. We parted enemies and as far as I am concerned, we still are. That said, I don't feel a charity giveaway would be in order.

    Sorry.

I've been told this was brought up a number of time when I brought it up again last week. I volunteered to put it all on line.

It comes down to most of the Mini guys are older and that's the way it's always been done.

Mini Meet East was always an event for Classic Minis. With the introduction of the "new" MINI, MME has now included them, as well. There are two camps at MME...the "new" MINI camp and that of the Classics. I don't really see a big age difference...the "new MINI crowd is a great mix of young and old. The Classic crowd has its share of younger owners who want to restore and show their Classics, but, as you said, most are the older, original owners.
