    Mini screwing up all the way with the WRC

    ******This is from the December issue of Autoweek page 87***********

    This guy is probably the best Rally driver ever. If you have been watching the WRC you would have seen the Citroin factory big-wigs holding him back from taking the championship.

    Mini had a chance to sign him up but were to stupid not to smooze him. A really stupid move. Almost as stupid as not registering for the 2012 season

    As good as the car is I can'y understand why the Mini big shots don't care about winning a championship at all. Really dumb.

    Received another email from the folks at Prodrive.

    The most relevant part...

    Being realistic if half the M/A members gave $50 towards this we'ed still be way off the sums required. Even going to the other MINI forums out there we'ed still be looking a very difficult situation. Lets say the large seven figure sum was just over $1mil. That would still take 20,000+ at an avg of $50 ea. The Monte Carlo Rally is in 3 weeks...

    I hate to admit defeat but in this case I can't see it being feasible to raise that kind of money in such a short time.

    That looks like a great field. Thanks for finding that Steve. You got me hooked on WRC last season and I will look forward to your coverage. I will have to say that I no longer care that much how team MINI does and will not get emotional about where they finish. May the best car and driver win. :Thumbsup:

    Tis a great field, would be even better if Meeke were there with a full commitment from BMW/MINI as we had expected.... But it is what it is and I will still be pulling for Team Mini!!!:Thumbsup:

    At the end of December 2010, it was announced that BMW was bringing to a close its longstanding partnership with ORACLE Racing and thereby ending its involvement in the America's Cup; this was by mutual agreement of both partners
