MINI of Charleston, a leading MINI dealership in Charleston, South Carolina (SC) sponsored the fourth North American MINI Cooper Challenge. General Manager of Rick Hendrick Brad Davis brought a number of several new MINI cars for the event and they were demonstrated on Roebling Road track. The series provided an opportunity for MINI vs. MINI competition at an affordable price, in an affordable car on a popular track. The works of R56 JCW stole the show at the event. Twenty cars lined up for the Solo I Autocross competition and there were three classes of car specifications. The fastest car, Hendrick R56 JCW, was driven by Marcos DiBiasi with a time of 1:39.25. Eight fastest cars entered into the High Speed Time Trial in the event. The cars were sent off on the 5-lap time trial with equal time gaps between them. The winner was Chad Matthews, another Hendrick driver in a MINI Cooper with 12 points and he was awarded the winner’s medallion. The event was indeed a formula for fun, for competitive driving and the best motorsports.
