MINI Brand Sales For February, MINI USA reports 2,459 automobiles, a decrease of 42.8 percent from the 4,302 sold in the same month a year ago. Year-to-date, MINI sales in the U.S. are down 37.3 percent on volume of 5,002 compared to 7,984 in the first two months of 2013. MINI USA is currently in transition from the current hardtop to the new model arriving in the second quarter. MINI Pre-Owned Vehicles In February, MINI used automobiles (including MINI NEXT certified pre-owned and pre-owned) reported sales of 1,875 automobiles, an increase of 18.4 percent from the 1,583 sold in February, 2013. Year-to-date, MINI sales in the U.S. are up 20.2 percent on volume of 3,756 compared to 3,125 in the first two months of 2013. ED - Some context here. Between the lack of Hardtops on dealers lots due to the change over and the horrid weather we've had pretty much across the US these are not disturbing numbers.
Just saw the sales report across the industry. In a nutshell sales were flat. Some winners were Jeep, up 43%, Subaru, up 22% and that Maserati Super Bowl ad looks to have paid off. Sales are up a whopping 325% Ford was off 7%, GM, 6%.
Wish I had garage space for 3 Mini's...I would seriously consider building a JCW Clubman.....I have seen the early pix of the next gen that Nathan posted, and wow, I really dislike it more than the F56.
Winter 2013 was pretty mild on comparison to 2014. I'm guessing sales are down for a lot of automakers considering how hard the winter has been this year in the north and especially north central and east. - people not going out or being motivated. - people not wanting to wreck a brand new car. - people having additional expense, less money with heavy gas bills, house repairs, etc... - etc... I know I would never buy a car in February unless I live in the warm climate. It would be useful to know how much February account on average for the yearly total sale. If it is always smaller than other months than there is nothing to worry about...
