The article didn't say. It could be either.

The BMW i3, Tesla Roadster, and Tesla S are RWD electrics. BMW i8 has electric drive in front, gas drive in rear.

If and when it shows up in production..... It still has to clear the hurdle of "Pedestrian Impact Design"..... Heh

Right now it's all "Pie in the sky"......

But it does look good....... Without stickers...:D

Hidden in the description is that the car is wider than a Mini - so it's sorta an Audi TT not a Mini. Bigger is not better.

Yeah but if they decide to actually build it and release it for Production that would not matter. (They won't)

As far as I see it BMW has not been building MINI's anyhow, just small BMW's.

I don't think it's certain they'd completely ruin it on the way to production but I'm fairly certain it would hit showrooms with ridiculously unrealistic pricing.

MINI are definitely taking advantage of all the favorable buzz and working to keep it going. They have a poll (sort of) on Facebook today asking whether people would rather have the tail fin or the tail lights.

If they offered the fin they would be the only manufacturer to do so on a modern vehicle....

    "Not Normal"..................

Don't know why it took me so long but I just noticed the fin wraps around and under (where the bumper would be).

I like the lights... Only gripe is the tail, and the rocket launchers. :)
