    I also think it's a pretty good ex-urban car, able to swallow long hiway distances easily, especially the Clubman with it's longer wheelbase and slightly smoother ride.

    Only from the standpoint it was developed specifically to be a city car. Something's wrong when you don't even hit you target market. Not saying I like the Smart, far from it. Just wondering if Smart has a future.

    I agree. Very strange. I think the problem with Smart is that they've simply built a car that's small and figured that's enough to make it a (good) city car.

    Oddly, here where I live I have the only MINI and I know of six smart cars. They use them as commuters, not city cars which, to me, is crazy. I would not want to be on I-270 in one of those. :nonod:

    The worst part is they can cost as much as a base Cooper (passion cabriolet starts at 17,600) and gas milage in them isn't worth it (about 33 city). Oh and their resale value is laughable. :eek:ut:
