MINI tops category in JD Power 2012 Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) Study

    On the one hand, CR has the MINI as lowest rated for reliability. On the other hand, MINI has the highest dealer satisfaction on JD powers. And that makes perfect sense to me.

    Think what you will, but there is merit to the CR report; MINI's just aren't as reliable as they should be. On the other hand, the car is one of the most unique cars out there--it has developed cult status in those that want something different, those that want something fun to drive, and those that want to modify and track the car, and all of those people, myself included, will defend MINI to the death. So here we have a relatively unreliable car that everyone loves. BMW has got it made, it's a no-lose proposition at this point.
