    In 2009 at Silverstone Race Track in the UK, MINI United drew about 25,000 MINI Enthusiasts from all over the world. It was one fantastic event and MINI USA did a great job taking care of us with VIP treatment at the event, dinners and Pub Crawl. I have fond memories of that event and made many freinds from Europe that I still keep in contact with. Last year was something different when MINI never really announced the event, but did release dates and the location only to cancel the event. I still have the airline tickets I may be able to use. I would go back again if I can get confirmation from MINI. For anyone that wants to go, I would suggest that you wait until there is an official MINI confirmation. IN 2009, that was the 50th anniversary of Mini and they went all out. We got tours of the Oxford Mini factory and all kinds of kool stuff. MINI United is far above MTTS. Meeting fellow Mini owners from Russia, the Ukraine, Swithzerland, Lithuania, Romania, and many other countries was a "once in a lifetime" experience. If you can find a way to go, DO!

    As Nathan says events like Minis on the Dragon and Mini of the Ozarks, AMVIV. MINIs in the Mountains are all great examples of independantly organized and well run events, that are planned well in advanced and are very sucessful and fun. Support your local club events.

    It's a massive party put on by MINI in Europe. Previous ones have been held in England (2009), Zandvoort Circuit. Amsterdam, Netherlands (2007).

    They usually alternate MINI Takes the Stated, the US version of MINI United, with MINI United. The 2011 MINI United was canceled citing budget cuts. As MotoringFile mentions in the article it does wonder if there is a MINI Takes the States in 2012.

    The problem as I see it at this point is that people only have so much vacation time here in the US, unlike Europe where August is vacation. If MINI US sits on their hands to long before announcing the US dates, assuming there are US dates, then people will have already made plans.

    This is why we know the next 5 + years of MINIs on the Dragon and Minis in the Ozarks. Planning ahead helps ensure success.

    That's in France and from what I've seen, while MINI United is far bigger, it seems to play to a much younger crowd. Or maybe that's just the slant the reviews and videos I've seen have had. MINI USA has previously sponsored a package over to M/U for us State side MINI owners. I know of a couple of MINI owners that have taken part in that trip and were very pleased. Wonder if they'll do it as MTTS and M/U are the same years???

    I was at MINI United 2009 as well and I was able to hop on board with the MINI USA people (special treatment doesnt even begin to describe it)

    I cant even begin to describe it!!!

    The event was truly an experience of a lifetime and something I am eagerly awaiting to enjoy again. It is a 3 day party with thousands of your closest MINI friends who all speak the same language...MOTORING

    As soon as official details are released consider my tickets booked. As has been stated above, if you get the chance to - DO IT!
