No one ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American public. Look around while you drive it is sea of derned ugly farking cars & mostly SUV abominations. MINI makes those & prices them like they are made of gold.
Cars in general are all looking the same and getting bigger. That said, the 3rd gen build quality (especially interior) seems a good bit better based on the ones I've ridden in. I've seen some coppers and countrymen that look very nice. Granted they are usually modified (which is more my sporting style). I'll be very interested to see what the Gen 4 actually looks like and if there is a cooper in the line up. Rumors are there is debate on that point. Personally, I think Mini should look at Porsche as the role model. Keep your iconic car and mature it over time (granted new "911"s are way bigger), and expand your line.
