Congrats! I can't wait to watch the broadcast on Speed. Sounds like everyone else was competing for second place.
From Bimmerworld press release:
For Clay, the satisfaction from their NJMP podium comes from realizing their potential with a very capable result.
"David handed off the car in a good position and from the out lap, I knew I had a fast car that could win. I executed well, preserved our tires and equipment and used our car's speed when we needed to and it gave me the ability to run fast until the end. The (race winning) MINI was a rocket and it was good to see them have the race that car is capable of. I couldn't have touched their speed this weekend so I consider our No. 80 BMW 328 'the best of the rest' and that's almost as good as the win - I guess."

Can't wait to watch the race this weekend!
What the heck happened to that Camaro (at 1:20-1:40)? -
Looks like a couple of Camaro's had their motors let go.

Looks like an engine failure alright but all the flying bits and shrapnel made wonder...

Major engine blowup!!!!
And then he just stops it on track and jumps out in front of traffic.......:eek6:
Not a smart move. -
He thought the car was on fire and HE WANTED OUT . . . he also couldn't see where he was going due to smoke in the car and he knew he was running out of track. It could have been tragic to run off the end. He did the smart thing which was also the dumb thing...:confused5:
Does that make sense???? -

Die of smoke inhalation now, or get hit by a race car later... tough choice. :eek6:

It still isn't hard to turn the car and feel when you are off road. He had to have known that he was still on pavement.
I do agree that it was a tough situation, I just hope folks see what he did and try to do better if they find themselves in the same situation.
Tough day for GM tho....... -
Congrats on the victory

DAMMIT..........!!!!!
Well my dvr had a meltdown of some kind and didn't get the race saved. It was recording it just fine, but now it doesn't show up in the queue.
Any chance someone has the capability of posting a download of it. I am monitoring RacingUnderground.com to see if someone posts it also. -

Wow, that Camaro's engine really blew itself to bits didn't it? Shrapnel flying everywhere! Outside drag racing, I've never seen one grenade like that.
