    Wow, that Camaro's engine really blew itself to bits didn't it? Shrapnel flying everywhere! Outside drag racing, I've never seen one grenade like that.

    I watched the race yesterday. Those Camaro blowups were crazy. The one that stopped in the middle of the track - you could actually see one of the pistons flying through the air!

    That other Camaro was scary to watch. I talked with one of the team managers at VIR on Friday. They brought a GT3 Cup car to VIR for a test and tune to give the driver seat time in the car they plan on running next year in the Rolex GT series. There must have been a couple dozen radios lying around; it was definitely a professional operation. Anyways, the team guy said they busted a fuel line on the passenger side, and that was what caused the fire. He said they stripped every single electrical wire out of the car and were in the process of rebuilding it. He stressed the enormity of the task, but it sounds like the RSR guys went through the same thing with the 198 car and came out better on the other side.
