Does the engine turn over when you try to start it? How old is the battery?

Battery
No there nothing ,dash lights come on thats it , not sure how old the battery is . I have owned the mini for 4 years and not a single problem until now. I just went and had a look at the battery last tested 29/9/2009. So yeah pretty old -

When you test it have them load test it , not just check the voltage. That battery will probably fall right on its face with a little load on it.

Make sure the car is fully in PARK since it is an Automatic. and you just pulled it out of the garage and it was fine.

Welcome to M/A!
Like the others have said, I'd say your problem is that you need a new battery.
Good luck! :fingerscrossed: -

Please let us know how you make out.
As others have said, with Mini Coopers the first place to look for any electrical issues is the battery...our favorite cars are VERY subject to issues from the slightest drop in battery performance. Unlike other cars that may continue to start and function with a weak battery, the Mini Coopers do not.
I've come to solve my battery problems by buying a 5 year free replacement battery from Autozone...typically lasts about 2 1/2 years before failing, then I get a new battery free that lasts for another 2-3 years....so I get a genuine 4-5 years for one outlay of cash.
