I guess his co-driver was not along on a test run and very glad of it. :eek6:

I'm betting all the M/A sponsors could have had him back on the road for the next phase and the car detailed. :D

Those scratches won't just polish out. It's gonna need a repaint.

Wow, looks like it was stripped by one of those "chop shops" on the wrong side of town.

It might have been by the time that picture was taken. Doesn't that look like camel tracks going off behind it? :D

It is really too bad that they crashed on the "rest" day. Especially having done so well the first 6 days. I was really enjoying the rally and seeing how the Mini did each day. Even though the Mini was not in the top five it got a little coverage on TV each day. Even with getting stuck on day 6 the Mini still did well. It frustrates me as a fan to see the team go out of the race on a "rest" day.

I know what you mean and I am sad it it out as well, but I'm sure there was a reason they were running on a rest day and if you don't take chances, you don't win.

There had to be reason to test on the day off. I'm sure many teams do it. Too bad the desert bit them so hard during their testing. I am positive no one feels worse about it than the driver.

They got MINI some good press & TV time. That is what the Dakar is all about for mfg's. For the competitors it is so much more.
