The Swifts have higher spring rates than the TSWs and the rear springs have a higher rate than the fronts. The higher rate in the rear removes understeer, whilst the over all higher rates helps the car to corner flatter and not roll over on the outside front tire, lifting the inside rear. The firmer rates also keep it off the bump stops better. It has Bilstein Sports all the way around as pictured. It is firmer but it seems to just soak up a bump with way less drama! PS: It had the version two TSWs.
The Version two TSW spring rates were 200lb/in front and rear, I believe the next version has 210 in the front and 200 in the rear. At least that is what I was told by the guys at TSW themselves just before they sold. Swift Spring linear rates are: Front - 280 lb/in Rear - 308 lb/in
thanks But I am not sure how a 50% stiffer rate on the same dampers could improve the ride comfort tho.....
Put them on my old OEM front struts too, and they were better. This isn't for the Cadillac crowd though. Swift spec'd these springs for the OEM sport struts from their shock dyno testing.
Nice Mini! I sure wish (assuming you are going to make it to the dragon) that you would join us for the exhaust sound-off. Milltek is not on the agenda at present and I think it should be.
Thanks and yes I will be at the dragon as usual! It's a Milltek with a RMW street header, might just have to join ya!! What's the schedule and stuff?
I'm clean again, removed the stripes today!!! ...and took the wife to dinner last night on a road that she usually complains about the Mini's ride on. Couple miles in she was like wow the car really rides better, she couldn't believe the difference!!! Swift springs are wife approved!!!
Hate to break it to you. It was pulling off the stripes that improved the ride for the Mrs.. Removing the racer look removed the racer ride.
Nope Nathan, please reread my post, the ride was last night, the stripes came off tonight... She liked the stripes too! Yep Kitty, it's kinda chilly too... LOL
Thanks Jim, they may be gone now but return in the future, N2MINI is a friend so stripes are just a phone call away...plus he showed me how to install them...
Two completely different looks, and they both look GOOD... Maybe next time, we'll do something exotic on it!!!!
Silver or black or maybe even ghost if the right stuff could be found. After watching the Rolex and that beautifully clean blue Corvette DP and then Robert Berry posted a bad arse clean P-car on FB...me had to go for the clean look again!!
