[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0pU10yBoxQ"]SCCA Adv PDX Sep 12, 2005 Highlights - YouTube[/ame] It was raining pretty hard but the mini kept sticking it was my first first rain sessions with the 205/45/17 Conti DW (340TW) setup and I am very pleased with them. Fastest lap was a 1:29.00 when it was drying up in the last session. People quickly learned to fear the mini in the wet
Yep. Some of my most fun track sessions have been in the wet, in the MINI. And yep, the DW's are very capable in the wet.
The walls are even closer on their other circuits! I guess being on the east coast I am just used to it. That and the mini doesn't have the highest top speed where I hit 120 vettes are doing 160 (in the dry). I had been getting by with tires like z2* in the rain which are decent and staying on r-comps for a drizzle, but real tread cavity in a downpour felt like cheating! The only part I don't like about the rain is soggy socks and walking around the paddock. On track I find it really fun and challenging, plus I get to pass more people. I don't know if you caught it but when I almost lost it in turn 3 twice (~9:46 and 9:55) I lol at 10:02 because the aim was saying that was faster! I just need to be less of wuss and drive closer to the edge!!!
