MOTD 2019 Most liked posts in thread: MINIs on the Dragon 2019 May 1st - May 5th

We are coming in Tuesday night and will leave after checking out on Friday. This IS my last hurrah this year. I know, i say that every year, but, all 3 MINIs are getting harder and harder to maintain, and especially whichever one I will bring to the Dragon this year. The last 2 years it has been the R50 and this year it will be my R53. the other R53 is my wife's and she won't let me drive it south of Dayton.

 

BOTH! Golly, I'm getting kinda excited to have another car ...always safety in numbers.

 

Now, THAT'S funny! I have a MINI Sweatshirt based on the "Cars and Coffee" theme with MINIs in place of "Cars". I'll wear that as we head out , so people can see how weird we are!

 

Used to be months, now weeks. Really looking forward to MOTD. Again, huge thanks to Barry and all his efforts! And thanks to all the volunteers, vendors and Miniacs that make this a premier event!

Yes, Dick will make it over to MOTD. Rat is still at his parents garage in Denver. His new “to him” Jeep rolled down his driveway yesterday into a tree. Looks fixable.

They normally have 1 during the week, 2 on weekends; 1 sheriff, 1 county. This year I saw 2 on Monday-Weds. chatted with two of them on Monday, actually they are very cool guys, really just making sure we are being safe, and not acting like jerks on the road.

 

We also saw this idiot.

Yup my first ticket ever on the Dragon.

I did get a Virginia ticket two years ago and at my first Dragon I got a ticket somewhere in NC at 3:00 am for buzzing by a police station at well over a 100 mph with my buddy. He only pulled me over not my buddy.

It was so late at night he did not have his radar on and only heard us go by as we were on 28 on the other side of a huge hedge. He was cool about it and have me a ticket for 10 m-h over and and not having a seatbelt on. I tried to tell him I took off my harness so I could get my registration and insurance papers but he did not buy it. $100 combo ticket.

Remember boys and girls if you are going to speed be prepared to pay if you play.
