@Dave.0 your Mini is looking good!
From what I understand they let quite a few people off with just warnings.. or a new one I never heard of "Severe Braking"... @ $20.00 but I'll let that member tell that story.
Thats awesome.. teaching them early.
I will have to remember that for next year.
That sucks... love the rest of the pics and the fire.
The ticket I got was for “Excessive Braking” and will cost $20.00.
The officer was really cool and did not write me for 60 in a 30. Let’s just say 60 was the low number after I braked hard and he radar gunned me. lol
Excessive Braking? LOL. That's a new one for me.
Yea - never heard of that either.
Some more pics.. these are when folks were lining up for the pic.
Some nice Countryman’s were there.
There was a husband and wife who both had GP2s.. should have gotten a pic of that.
And some more. This time some of the classics that were there... love these little guys..
Also.... drum roll please..... @Goldsmithy won the best in show overall and for his class plus a number of other awards. I should have taken more picks of that!
Some more random pics..
Nice 3rd Gen
Parking.. what’s that SS doing in there.
I didn’t know UUC stuff would work on Mini’s. Guess it makes sense as they are focused on BMW.
Nice looking wing..
Some great pictures. Thanks Sully
And a few more...
Followed a countryman through the dragon on one of the runs... it did quite well. Wasn’t the one below..
Weather mostly held off. A little rain but that was more Saturday afternoon and Sunday.
That’s all in for MOTD
On bags.. from what I understand initially he did the bass for autocross... but that is only a rumor as I didn’t hear it directly from him.
Thanks for sharing the pics Sully.
Dave O you are lucky, what a gift you received.
No problem - wish I had taken more. There were some nice rides there.
Thanks @Sully. Those were some nice looking coupe's. The pick of the MINI litter. Well except the GP's, maybe.
I drove a roaster before I bought the Helmet, almost got it, they are very fun cars. Also they M7 cold air intake looked nice.
I guess the officer noticed the FOP Lodge #11 decal and plate badge. Yes, I am a member but not a cop.
Also he loved my TRUMP “F**K Your Feelings 2020” shirt. I got out of my car had a smoke with him and we talked for a while about cars. He was a nice guy and just doing his job. He said you can go as fast as 45 and they will just warn you, over that you get a ticket.
They have had too many deaths on the Dragon recently and now they are paid OT to patrol it and “enforce” the speed limits but they also don’t like all the paperwork.
Is this the first time you've gotten a fine driving award from the HiPo on the dragon?
My bet would be no.. but I don't know that for sure.
Yup my first ticket ever on the Dragon.
I did get a Virginia ticket two years ago and at my first Dragon I got a ticket somewhere in NC at 3:00 am for buzzing by a police station at well over a 100 mph with my buddy. He only pulled me over not my buddy.
It was so late at night he did not have his radar on and only heard us go by as we were on 28 on the other side of a huge hedge. He was cool about it and have me a ticket for 10 m-h over and and not having a seatbelt on. I tried to tell him I took off my harness so I could get my registration and insurance papers but he did not buy it. $100 combo ticket.
Remember boys and girls if you are going to speed be prepared to pay if you play.
There can never be too much camber! Lol. The inside wheel is getting scrubbed during very fast Dragon Runs. Wear is actually right where I need it. This little R50 was fast, very fast. Never had any car ask me to move over this year during 36 runs. But close to 8500 miles on the Dragon over 14 years in this same MINI helps!
Would like to apologize for leaving early this year, but my son needed to be picked up from U of Cincinnati. Only father to bring home their kid and dorm room in a MINI!
The reason I said that is because when the car is driven hard, the camber should be just enough to provide even wear across the contact patch. If you are wearing the inside that much, too much camber.
And still a great looking car!
Thanks. Don’t care about looks. Only speed! Lol.

Seem to hold my own on the Dragon, even with only 126hp.
