Basic question. What are people paying per night to stay in the Fontana Village area. I want to know if it is feasible to road trip down next year. :skep:

Don, there are some less expensive places to stay within a hour of Fontana. Check out the lodging section HERE. Plus there are always folks willing to split the cost of a room or cabin if you are traveling alone.

the Dragon and no sleep are not good bedfellows.... car and driver need to be at 100% operating efficiency for those roads... and even then, stuff happens... I'd rather give you my couch than have you not sleep... :yesnod:

 

Note on Fontana Village. For some reason, if you book online, they make you pay a deposit = to half of your stay, but if you book by phone they seem to let you pay a deposit of just one night's stay...weird

 

I got my reservations at Fontana via their website. Then called later to confirm.

 

my room sleeps four, will likely be just me and the gf, but i booked a room for 4...just in case.

 

I booked a room near knoxville but then figured it was too far away. I went to Fontana Lodge that Friday and got my room for the rest of the weekend it was a great time
