This came from the folks over at the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum -- Hello from the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum, I am a 2009 Mini-Cooper Clubman owner (purchased from MINI of Grand Rapids, 2009) and the Director of the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum at Whitefish Point. I will happily join in the record breaking attempt on August 3, 2013, and will offer a discounted rate ($4 off per participant) for any and all Mini drivers to visit the museum that same weekend. We are located slightly over an hour NW of the Mackinac Bridge on the site of the oldest operating lighthouse on Lake Superior. We are also 17 miles away from the location where the Edmund Fitzgerald sank in November 1975. Finally, Tahquamenon Falls is 1/2 hour away! This would be a great day trip for any Mini drivers staying in the Straits area.
