Looks like it will be covered live by RLM, audio and video, via YouTube. Watch live qualifying now. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXcytla1Oqo"]42. ADAC Zurich 24h-race Q1-LIVE - YouTube[/ame]
The embedded video is marked private Probably because I missed it - stoopid work getting in the way of watching things that I want to see....
New link for every session. Here's the current: [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkmrDxTgflY"]ADAC Zurich 24h-race Top 30 Qualifying - Live - YouTube[/ame] I think this one is nearly done but I'll continue to post when I find new stuff. I think you can find the current session by clicking through to Radio Le Mans.
I don't know how long it will stay up but it looks like you can still watch that Top 30 qualifying session video (above). I just clicked to it again and it started right up just shy of the 40min point. If you try to watch and it starts anywhere other than the 40min point (+/- a few seconds, it's just a logo and silence before that), just click to about 39:25. It's Radio Le Mans commentary so don't expect the audio commentary to match that you'll see on the video. There's about 20 min of commentary before cars take the track so if you want to skip the sort of pre-quali comments jump straight to the 1hr point.
Looks like the race starts at 10am Eastern...I think. I hope to see the start, at least, since it's usually pretty cool given the huge field and all the classes.
Pre-race activities are happening now - Video, but no commentary. Quality of radiolemans.com feed is excellent! Green flag is at 10 a.m. Eastern, after the tradtional 20-minute pace lap! The field is huge...163 entries!
I just realized they're running this on the Summer Solstice so the shortest night of the year. Well scheduled. I wonder whether they did that intentionally and if they do that every year...
The MINI was taken out by a blind driver in a Viper who tried a pass on a downhill left-hander - ignoring the yellow flags and having the choice of taking out the MINI or a safety car. Until then, the MINI was leading its class, at (I think) 92nd overall. :eek6:
Thanks, I missed the first part of the race. I assume that's the Viper they said was pulled from competition by the organizers pending a visit to explain an incident. I can only find one Viper, the #210, and it's currently listed in 164th position.
UPDATE: He was running in the alternate fuels class, and was banned from reentering the race. [ame="http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=98NtAaueoCQ&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=pulsenews"]http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=98NtAaueoCQ&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=pulsenews[/ame]
I was just about to post that video of the Besaplast MINI being taken out, good thing I noticed you added it to your earlier post. Looks like the Viper was going way too fast. Wouldn't there have been a local yellow given the intervention vehicle parked on the side of the track?
The track officials said there was a yellow displayed long before the downhill section, which is why the LPG-powered Viper was excluded from further participation. All the other drivers seem to have caught it. :frown2:
