You're going to give Dick a back rub? The syntax, that just sounds so wrong (and physiologically challenging, yet at the same time enjoyable).
I've got a friend who developed some neurological issues while in the Navy. He finally had to resort to a representative / agent of sorts to get what he needed from the VA. I'm not sure how they work, but it did get him some disability and, more importantly, the attention to get the help he needed. PM me if you need and I'll ask for a name and number. The idea of needing an agent to represent you to the VA sounds shady, IMHO, but the guy knew how to shake the process loose.
We want to help, too!!! The best way Erik and I can support you is that we can cook you up a great meal.....ANY TIME!!! Just say when! No back rubs but there is an inversion table on the patio you're welcome to use for a good stretch! And you get the lead for Denver Convoy to MOTD 2015! :biggrin5:
Ok, so I learned last Friday that I dont have the only problems in my family... My Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. No doubt in my mind she will be fine, shes one tough lady! Just like her Mom, who whooped the carp out of a guy at the nursing home at least once a week until she passed a couple years ago. As for me, I am still working all the VA paperwork. Since I ditched the Jeep for Porkchop Saturday though, for some reason I feel a lot better in my mind. I am smiling again, the music I listen to has changed, and I feel more comfortable in my day to day life. Its kinda weird how something like just being able to drive a MINI again kinda brightened things up for me. Some (mainly Dave.0) will argue the Countryman isnt a real MINI, and in most terms I agree... But it still has the character and fun feel that sold me on MINI's in the first place. With the amount of fun I am having with Porkchop, I cant wait for Isobell to be up and going again...
I'm sorry to hear about your Mom's breast cancer, but, I can tell you, it IS a beatable disease. My wife had a mastectomy 4 years ago, went thru chemo, and is now one year away from being classified as a cancer survivor. She was a stage 3. So, you and your family just hang in there and don't give up, ok? It CAN be beaten! I like the Countryman and would consider one if I didn't already have 3 MINIs. I would certainly consider one over a Clubman...heck, might as well get a MINI version of an SUV. Besides, as you said, it DOES have MINI's best qualities for a larger vehicle...the name and the handling. I'm glad that having purchased one makes you feel MINI again [no, Dave, NOT Minnie...as in Mousey:devil:].
Thanks Jeff. I do see a problem with the Countryman though... It cant do the one thing the Jeep was good at. My days of loading my camping box-O-crap in the back, and hitting the sticks for the weekend are pretty much over. I can adjust to that though, back in school I camped out the back of a Honda CRX! Just need to find some accessible spots where there aren't many people, or trade my dad for his pickup on occasion.
Hey man congrats on the pork chop and you know how to get a hold of me if you need anything. My Mother-in-law kicked Brest cancers a$$ not once but twice so it's beatable. Then again she is a mean old b**** and cancer may have been scarred of her.
I'm sorry to hear about your Mom, hang in there it is treatable and MA is here for you. Some times all you need is a Porkchop to make you feel better.
Happy belated Thanksgiving, Dick. A new to you Clubman, huh? Sweet. One can haul a lot of crap in a clubman. Not sure how that would slow you down, at all. Certainly not in camping, only in where you can camp in some instances.
Thanks. I dont have a Clubman though... If they woulda put the AWD into the Clubman I would though! But yeah, I picked up a brand new 2015 Countryman S All4 a couple weeks ago, and so far I love it!
Today Mom got her head shaved! She woke up this morning with clumps of her hair falling out from the chemo, so she called my sister to take her to get the rest taken off. My Dad (works for the city and was out all night shoveling snow) came home, and shaved his head too, just to make her feel better. Mine stopped growing years ago, and I am not taking off the beard, so now all thats left is the dog! Then we can be one happily bald family!
