Brian, I have 1/2 a can of Blue Racing Fluid that I'll donate if you want it. If not, club member Aaron has it in stock at "world headquarters".
I like to alternate using ATE blue one time & ATE amber the next. Makes it easier to tell when you've flushed the old stuff out completely.
I feel generous today :beer. Brian I have another 1/3ish can of ATE super blue fluid that you can have if needed. I'm no pro, but I can assist you in changing the brake fluid also.
Yeah well, I think for Christmas I am going to FINALLY get the money for my mounts from Aaron, which ROCKS. Maybe if I can find sometime to take off work I think a Driving Light Walkthrough might be in order. If I were to do it, I would like to take some pictures and do a nice little bit to contribute to the community of DIY articles.
BTW: The MetroplexMINI.org DIY days are a blast at MINI of Dallas. Our hosting dealership just moved into a MASSIVE facility... brand new, air conditioned space with what looks like 50+ bays (MINI and BMW combined). I am still amazed that they let us in for this type of event, plus they cater lunch! They have won a new customer in me... that and some serious customer service kudos that they earned handling a problem for a friend of mine.
USE FRESH! you guys that have the extra stuff...throw it out. it is not longer good. for the 13 bucks for a new bottle there is no reason to be cheep. if brake fluid sits for more than a month open it's no good. and the MINI system uses one can to fully bleed the brakes so not sure why you have extra. hope that helps.
Brake fluid absorbs water. That is not a good thing. Listen to Chad he knows of what he speaks. Thanks Chad, I knew that but was struck down with a case of CRS. ut:
Thanks Chad. I'll throw the brake fluid out...I'm keeping the opened scotch and Patron though
