So how many MoMers ordered a new 4dr F56 yesterday? Still waiting for the pics of one stuffed with Silverbacks. Was kind of expecting to see a caravan of MINIs heading to MAG when we were on 270/33 going to my parent's house for Christmas.
HaHa. I don't know that I want to try to stuff a bunch of like sized silverbacks into a car. I've had too many donuts for that stunt. As for the 4/f56, I gotta say that it is a pretty darn nice looking car. I really liked it. If I was looking for a 4dr it would be one to look at. I liked the style and size more than I like the Countryman. (Nothing against the Countryman or those that like them.)
The 4 door looks a lot better than the 2 door. The extra length makes the nose work. It has more rear seat room than my WRX had.
That is a tough question. I haven't driven either the 2 or 4 door f56 but several of the Mom-rs on hand commented that they had and the cars were pretty peppy. I think that the 4/f56 may match up nicely to a Golf as a peer. If that is true, then a JCW option might be a good counterpart to a GTI. As for me, I am very very happy with my GTI. It drives really nice and I am liking the DSG and the flappy paddles. The only thing is the hipsters, I mean lumbersexuals, keep asking me why my car isn't stanced!! I guess they prefer looking at them when the could be driving them. Haha :cornut: Overall though I am starting to see this evolution as a good thing. I wasn't so sold when it first came about but it's growing on me. It doesn't take away from the Classic, Gen1, Gen2 crowd. It's like debating preference of blonde or brunette. Especially when you know your preference is the gal that prefers you.
I wonder what a 4dr F56 JCW will cost? I would think it will come in a couple of $k more than an Autobahn GTI with the PP option or a couple of $k less than the new Golf R (I know Mark....blah). If they could fit a version of the All4 system it could be an intriguing option.
I agree, the addition of AWD would make the 4f56JCW a better offering. I'm not holding my breath on that one although the wife's CMS now has 65K on the clock and it's about time to replace it.
At one point weren't you looking at the Evoque as a replacement for the CMS? I don't see many of those on the road.
There is a bronze Evoque that comes to my office it has a black roof and huge black wheels. It is easily the best looking SUV I have ever seen. If I ever wanted a hatch back with a lift kit the Evoque would be at the top of my list.
