I do have many friends that I've met though my years of MINI ownership. If someone buys another kind of car they are still my friend. I'd hope my friends would extend me the same courtesy. Some will, others won't & I'm OK with that. c'est la vie....

 

Looks like the beginnings of another Tee shirt.

 

I'll start working on a new logo with a rising sun (Subie/Mazda), a bald eagle (Ford), Big Ben (MINI, Rover, and Jag), and some brats and kraut (BMW and VW).

 

And before anybody gets upset, I am totally joking!

I've written on the blackboard 100 times "I won't say bite me on MA ever again". BTW Chuck, as I told you on Saturday that's the nicest GTI I've seen and that is genuine. ( now I hope I haven't pi$$ed off the other GTI owners).

Sorry Nick, they all went with my MINI. I felt that was the fair thing to do.

 

Chuck don't get me wrong, GTI's are of no interest to me but your an ok guy.

Chuck is definitely more than an ok guy! As far as me, it really depends on who you talk to

 

Does this GTI have launch control? If so, it must be tested.

 

I bought this car for me. If I had wanted input on my decision I'd have set up a pole. Crankshaft I think you're OK too no matter what you drive.

No launch control, it has lunch control. If seems to want to stop at good places to eat.
If it had launch control I wouldn't use it, but heck I do love pulling the hand brake & doing a 180.

 

It's all good, I can order in a snorkel kit for a gti if anyone needs one.

 

I believe it should have launch control. I haven't tried it, but I think it is:

- in D, turn off ESP
- switch to S mode
- get on the throttle
