There is no such thing as an evil cigar smoker (unless you're talking to my wife!) I enjoy good cigars complimented by a fine glass of single malt (The Macallan). I'm envious of your good company and cigar smoke.
This is true. Love the macallan but I prefer a glass of lagavulin. I have bottle 4 of 500 from the 2012 distillers edition. Mostly gone though. I did meet the sales rep of glenlevit for central Ohio today. Boy am I envious of that job. He said he gets all the free samples he wants.
Then, you MUST come to the Cigar Salon at MOTD in 2014! It's our 10th Anniversary and all who enjoy cigars are welcome.
Cigars, fine single malt scotch, and a bunch of MINIs. Sounds good! As for the Lagavulin, it's good stuff. I'll drink it on occasion, although The Macallan remains my steadfast favorite. Whenever I feel like something strong and 'peaty', I'll grab a glass of Talisker.
Not a chance! Regarding the single malts... I am a fiercely unapologetic Speyside and Highland Sherry Bomb fanatic. MacAllan, Dalmore, Balvenie, Cragganmore, Dalwhinnie, Aberlour (in no particular order). My very favorite is nearly always the one in my Glencairn at the time. I have come to suspect that most of the QC tasters on Islay (and Skye) must be drunks, although I recognize the possibility that they may simply have an incredible tolerance to seaweed, salt and peat from lifetimes of being immersed in them. If I wanted to smell band-aids and taste iodine, I'm sure I could find much cheaper ways to do it. :biggrin5:
I guess I must be a drunk. Ha! My favorites are Red Breast and Bushmills however I have an affinity for the burnt wire smell and taste of islays. Takes a special pallet for it as well. I'm guessing since I love cigars the smokey flavor doesn't bother me.
Collection? What collection? The bottles are almost all EMPTY!!! Now, if ya wanna brag about your whiskey BOTTLE collection....
I'm leaving here around 6 AM tomorrow as I don't know what kind of rain to expect. Oh, and there is also that detour, but I have an alternate route.... About all I need to do today to prepare is to air up the tires and pack the cigars. Oh, and the dog is coming, too, so we'll be visiting the Rest Area on 33 so the good patrons at Tim's don't get all pissy [besides the dog]. Sorry, I'm not a beer drinker.
The one plus is I don't have to bother warshing my filthy MINI. Tomorrow morning from 9:30 - 11:30 is when the Austin Healey folks are having their car show. It's in Worthington at the Holiday Inn Caran Ave & High St. I'm heading over after donuts. :donut1: Jeff the beer tour will also have whine for the whiners.
