Don't take offense to their keyboards Jeff. They can get out of ctl And Chuck. I wasn't just talking about drives. Please read thoroughly. I'm just trying to spark new ideas.... Not trying to be the pariah. Just trying to find a way where we can all be happy and have a good time and get out of the funk. For the record Brian. Nick has tried to set things up. So lambast me all you want but I just want everyone to have fun and set a fun atmosphere for new folks. That's all.
It also helped that Outmotoring WHQ was across the street from the first TH, which allowed for plenty of post donut mingling.
Seth I'm having fun. I'm sorry for some reason you aren't. Do what you need to to have that fun, it beats the alternative. :yesnod:
Your right Seth, Nick has tried to set up things and the current group of people choose not to do them. I'm not lambasting you, I'm challenging you and whoever else shares your feelings to make a difference. Work with MAG to have a meet and greet, start a FB page, make an effort to go to other car events and meet people. Just saying you want everyone to have fun and create a fun atmosphere is worthless without effort. Will you lose current people because of this....maybe, but that happens regardless. There are probably only 4 or 5 people still around from when I first started hanging out with this group back in 2007. If you take out the people who sold their MINIs, it drops to 1 (maybe 2 if you count the sole member of PMS). I said before that you (whoever) need to determine what you want out of a group/club and then do it.
I've said my piece throughout. You haven't said anything I haven't heard before. This was blown completely out of proportion and I'm done talking about it. The thread is about moving locations for the 3rd Saturday of the month. Continue locational ideas please. - The MOM Pariah.
That was what I figured would happen. Back on topic...if the location moves, how does it get communicated out to the masses? Doesn't seem like everyone who shows up is very active here.

Someone could rent a plane with a banner announcing where donuts got moved.....that would be a fun event riding in the plane!
I thought there was a MOM website. Post it big and bold!! And possibly a giant "we moved" sign in the old parking lot
Why not do a donut tour? Pick a "local" donut shop every month and drive to it. Or a mom and pop donut shop or what have you? I know logistics would get hectic with newbies though. Schulers is my número uno pick! Or do something like breakfast with Nick and just breakfast hop to different joints and shop around for a new spot.
Hah... 3rd & Hollywood, I did the awning and planters out front and all the metalwork inside... They do have good food there... But the parking lot is not very large.... You almost need to pound a stake in the ground and say this is the new spot... If it keeps moving around to different locations it could be a problem and people might lose interest...
Honey Dip Donuts on Kenny Road... Their Breakfast Sammich This is as good as it looks! 2 glazed donuts, sausage patty, egg, and cheese! | Yelp
Part of the problem might be that we do take up a lot of restaurant space at Tim Horton's, but management doesn't complain because we sit on the closed Wendy's side.... Once we've had our two donuts and a cup of coffee, we sit around and chew the fat for 1-1/2 hours or so without spending anything... Would another location be as accomodating?
That was definitely an issue at the first TH. Small store and small parking lot. I love me some Jolly Pirate donuts, but there is no way that it works as a meeting spot for a group of people.
