Yeah it was a stocker. A lot has happened, girlfriend and my girls are living with her parents, I lost my job and had to move. So, I promise I still miss you all! Just been a crazy spell in life lately. I worked in Powell, but now I am working in Hilliard. I won't be able to attend because I am moving this weekend to Pataskala, but will definitely like to see everyone soon!
It is looking like the weather God's will be smiling on our MINIs as we meander the back roads to who knows where tomorrow. :ihih:
I have arrived safe & sound! I left VA at 7am and expected to be here at 5pm but actually arrived at 4pm, so I'm thrilled! Now to do some shopping & grab a bite to eat...
I ran the route today....absolutely beautiful fall colors and plenty of twisty roads. Being originally from southern Ohio, it was great to drive through some nostalgic areas for me. I'll have the route sheets in the morning. If you're on the fence about joining us....I can personally give you my recommendation to make the trip. Depending on how much time we take climbing through the rocks and caves, you should return to C'bus around 3:00 PM.
If y'all ever saw Erika drive, you'd understand why she made it there an hour early! Take good care of her, she's got another Fall Colors Run in a couple of weeks!
It will be a blast, I'm sure! My plans for tomorrow changed; I will be heading back to VA and staying overnight near Back of The Dragon VA. | Come join the knee draggin' excitement! It's only 4 hrs. south of Logan, OH, so I'll be able to get a good night's sleep and then get 1 or 2 runs (at least) on the VA Dragon before heading back to Hampton Roads.
Don't worry about Erika, we'll look after her. I plan to pull a couple R50 plug wires to slow her down.:ihih: This is good training for the other leaf peeper tour. We are old & feeble drivers. I'm more than a little worried about draggin your knees in your MINI. I want pictures of that....
Bahh! I need to check in more often. I will see what I can do to make it, although at this point there is little chance for a pre -rive wash. Please don't point and laugh at my coffee colored passenger side racing stripe (thank you whoever you were) or write wash me on my filthy rims, the amount of brake dust removed would likely throw my wheels out of balance.
Just to add... I think we lucked out with the perfect day for this. The weather was great, cars ran really well and there is still enough sun to get some heat in a summer tire. Within a week the trees will be bare it seems. Colder weather, some rain and this wind that's forecast for the week will see to that. Erika can drive!. She was behind me for a while and stuck to me in the corners like glue. That justa is set up real nice. Was a lot of fun to be in a line of MINIs (and Honda too) zipping along at a decent pace on the backroads. Lots of elevations changes and turns to keep one busy and having fun. The sight of a few cars in front and behind kicking up a swirl of leaves will a good memory for quite some time. After a week of hemming and hawing about going I am quite glad I did.
