Also sounds like he had been driving like a d-bag from the time he left FL (according to the some of the people he had traveled up with) until this happened (which just so happened to be right after leaving the safety meeting they had). Regardless, hope all the MoMers have a safe trip down, during, and back!

Heck getting lost is half the fun. I've found many great roads & seen many cool things while lost. Remember the old bumper sticker "Discover America get lost on a rally"....

When I started doing track weekends several years ago, my first instructor reminded me that "we all want to drive our cars home". It's a simple statement and is common sense, but it really stuck with me and I remember it every time I tighten my CG Lock and get my head into that place to take on The Dragon, Hellbender and the rest.

I swear a tuning fork still goes off in my loins when I see that first "squiggly road ahead" yellow sign on 129...:devil:

Not really a "MOM"er, but it is looking like I will be one of the first there!

I am leaving Colorado Friday the 24th after work. ( and a good long shower )

But I am staying the weekend around Ft. Campbell with my friends (more like adopted family) that live down there.

Planing on rolling out to Fontana early Monday morning, and pitching a tent for the night, because the rest of us MINI5280 folks aren't going to be there until sometime Tuesday.

I don't think the "off-site" lodging is that big of a deal. You have a small commute to Fontana to start and in your day. Otherwise you are out on drives or hanging out at home base with all the activities going on.

At Fontana you can get meals, cold sweet tea and you are good to go.



I saw the ad for those tree houses. They look pretty nice.

 

The real fun starts when you get there... Groups are fun on the way home, well they are for me at least. (Just to make sure I actually go home.)

 

Um...forgive me for not seeing the differences. Must not be keen on the various semantics.

 

"organized" is a very nebulous term for this drive.
