M5's are just as vulnerable as the rest. :( Any and all info would be much appreciated.

It was the Tree House B&B and apparently it's changed hands and under a new name and management. Go for the 7 Gables Inn if you can get a room there.

Jerry, a few years ago, we had a group from SoCal Mini Manics that went up for the week, and we rented a private home for the duration. We ended up a little farther away than anticipated, but it worked out well for the family members not traveling to the track each day. The price was very reasonable for what we got, and we were able to relax and cook our own meals if we wanted, etc. The website is vrbo.com. We stayed in Aptos, which as I said was a little far (North), but still reasonable. Worth checking out.

edit: PS: There's a Motel 6 in Salinas that is the fallback for many of our clubmembers when visiting events at Laguna Seca. I haven't stayed there, but reports were not encouraging: Dirty towels, very thin walls, etc. However, you can usually find a room there, but at a price. Not recommending it, but it may be a fallback...

One further suggestion: Camping at the track! Prolly a little late to get a decent spot, but you can't stay any closer to the track! If you don't like roughing it, and you're in a spendy mood, consider renting an RV there for the weekend... We have a guy in our club who drives his RV up every year, and he hosts a bratwurst and beer bash - man that's livin'!

When I was in Monterey, there were a couple very nice Guest Houses, with affordable rates, over looking the Bay, but I think they closed Ft Ord. :D

It is tough to find rooms for that weekend especially at a reasonable price.
I suggest trying for hotels in nearby cities such as Seaside, Marina, and Salinas.
If nothing in those cities, Watsonville has nice and fair priced hotels but it is 45 minutes away without traffic.
I usually do not find the race traffic to be too bad at Laguna Seca.
