If it's a 2010, it should be in warranty, why not run it by the dealer and let them sort it out for you?

Saw in another thread it's a 2010. Moving this to the 2nd Gen MCS area.
As to what could be the cause. Do you have the service history for the car?
But it could be a multitude of things.
Is it automatic transmission or manual?
Could be a bit of belt squeal.
Possibly even the timing chain tensioner issue if it has not been addressed in this car as of yet.
Have you checked the oil, is it full?
When was the last oil change?
Did you buy form a MINI dealer, private sale or another dealer? -
The service history looks good. I did not see any issues pertaining to this problem and if there were I would not recognize them because I am completely new to Minis. Oil is full and brand new. Purchased the car from MINI of San Diego.
