Way is a dork and that's me being nice.:lol:

wmwny Well-Known MemberSure it does! A little more zip in a cvt Cooper is always a good thing. Besides, the new tranny is still under warranty and I'm gonna drive it like I stole it until the warranty ends. If the tranny dies shortly after that, then maybe I'll be looking into one of those new Renaults [if I can fit into the freakin thing]!
Besides, it's only money...I might as well enjoy it while I'm able to do so. -
I know people have their opinions but way is a friend of mine

Got an email from Eric at Helix and they will not be there to change my control arm bushings. Biting the bullet and headed to WMW sometime next week to have it done. For twice what Helix was going to do it for, but it's still less then every other place around here.
Way, much like you, is VERY opinionated, but he's never done me wrong. I still prefer Helix over WMW just because Eric is a very cool and honest cat that does quality work, but gotta take what I can get. -

Why don't you change your own control arm bushings? It's not hard.
-
wmwny Well-Known MemberI don't have any problems with Waylen, but, don't forget to check out Chad at DT...he's also as good as it gets.
-
Did that before contacting Way
They won't be able replace the bushings "in the field". Completely understandable. I'm a Michigan native, so they were my first choice. I'll support MI when I can :cornut:

I'm not comfortable dropping the sub frame in my driveway. Also out of tech school this semester so I don't have shop access to presses etc. To make me even more unsure of myself, I dropped it off at an independent shop in my neck O the woods and they got to the point of installation and said they needed some special tool to complete the job correctly. I've watched videos too, but they're either of a BMW with close, but not close enough design, and another that utilized an acetylene torch and an air hammer. Neither of which I own or care to own till I have a garage again.

Way finally decided to get back to me after not hearing from him for like 2 weeks. I now won't have my control arm bushings changed out before the Dragon. Super nice of him to (possibly) carve out time like a month and a half after contacting him. I also had to reach out to him again to schedule a date/time (which still hasn't happened). First excuse was that he had been sick, understandable. Now "He can't do it next week due to the MINI event, so any time after that", dude, YOU HAVE YOUR SCHEDULE, YOU TELL ME WHEN YOU CAN DO IT. Dave I'm starting to share your feelings towards this guy. I get if you're busy, but TALK TO ME. Schedule a date or something. I hate begging someone to take my money.
