Jesse & I plan to come out from California for MOTD. Since its a long drive and we have the option of driving Pynt Syz (our classic) or Pooper it doesn't look good for driving all the way. So the question is "Can I rent a MINI/Mini" when we get out there? We will most likely fly and would like to rent a MINI and attend all the events. MOTD is till on my bucket list and this looks like a good year to come out. Any suggestions? Thanks Norm & Jesse Nelson

Fontana resort rooms all sold out!!!

:cryin: I called 1/8/11 and the lady said all the rooms are sold!! and that I can be on a waiting list....a Looooonnng waiting list!! boo-hoo!!:cryin:

This is kindof old, but I would absolutely try to stay at Fontana. There aren't that many other places that are close, so it's tons more convenient to be there. We absolutely loved MOTD last year even though we were staying 30 mins away, but being able to walk back to your room whenever you want is a big plus.

Are you specifically referring to the Lodge? There were at least a few cabins left on Monday (1/3/11) when we reserved our 3-bedroom.

 

The Microtel in Robbinsville is good, but it is about 30 minutes away. I had a room there last year. One good thing is 129 is right there, so you can take the Dragon all the way to Fontana and back.

My wife and I stayed at Blue Water Mountain Lodge in 2006 and love it. Small cozy Lodge with killer Breakfast included and all the rooms were taken by MINI owners!!

 

Barry, are you looking for volunteers yet? Rick and I would like to help with registration again and promise we'll be there early!!! I'm hoping to get there Tuesday at least this year.

Reservations are made, Staying at the Microtel in Robbinsville again. Days are getting longer and time is growing shorter...

 

If you were there last year we must must have seen each other. Being my first year, most of it is a blurr. Got a room at the lodge this time.

Yea, I think its the main Lodge? I called the number listed and the front desk said those dates are all full!!!

Reserved my room in the main lodge months ago, and today officially registered the wife and I. Getting pumped up to say the least, I will be breaking my dragon "virginity" this year, concentrating on getting some new shoes and GP style wing on my baby before the trip.
