Random question. So last year there was this speedbump on the Dragon, I think the news called it a rockslide. Either way, there was a turn around/parking area at a certain point. Does the Dragon extend much beyond this point? I'm trying to figure out if I missed a certain percentage of the Dragon, if any, last year.

It depends just which way you are talking. The Dragon usually "ends" at the parking lot/bridge where the rockslide was, if you are headed towards Knoxville. A lot of people seem to think the Dragon goes from Deals Gap to the parking lot/bridge, but that's wrong. It goes on, from Deals Gap [right hand turn] onto US 129 [towards Robbinsville], continuing past the dam and ending at the old Tapoco Lodge.

That section right past Deals Gap Store, heading down to the dam is a bear.

That section from the store and down through The Slide is my favorite part. Especially the last kinky downhill stretch before you turn and cross Fugitive Bridge.

Yup. Spent 12 years with Miatas staying at Tapoco Lodge. I'd find excuses to drive to the CROT just to run that stretch. Heck, I like it better than the actual hill.

I think we need to form the official "M/A Wee Bowling League" and yes, I spelled it the way I meant too. :cornut:

Looking at the registration page, I don't see a lot of names I know from M/A there. I know more of you must be going.

If most of them are fellow M/A'ers, they must be the quite ones. I only recognized a few of them (important though they are). :D

Help!!! Does anyone know where I can rent a MINI or Mini for MOTD? We are coming from California and flying into Knoxville TN. We will be staying in Seviereville. I have have check with MINI of Knoxville and most all the rental agencies. Even if I have to get it by driving some distance from Knoxville, that's OK too! Thanks for any help to can give me!

    Zipcar has MINIs

Car Sharing, an alternative to car rental and car ownership – Zipcar

    Atlanta is the closest location.
