Wow, someone who knows who Hot Tuna is!

For the under-educated, if you ever listened to Jefferson Airplane, you've heard them as they were part of that band.......but they also did this on the side....

I have a 160 GB iPod I have all the music I need.

BUT when I run the Dragon it 's radio off windows down and the sweet music of the motor screaming up to 7k the roar of my exhaust and the tires sounds of my tires being pushed to the edge as they should be.

I like to talk to my friends face to face, so if I can't see them they need to speed up or we will chat over a cold beer back at Fontana in the evening.

I listen to almost anything, from new alternative and country, to stuff that is WAY out of my age bracket... I'm talking 50's-60's anything, even though the mid to late 70's into the early 90's is my grey area.

Recently a girl I know turned me on to a chick that can play a mean electric violin! Her name is Lindsey Stirling, and take your pick of any song on either of her albums, they are all great driving tunes with no words!

    Check her out. :D

Zeppelin, the Stones, the Who, Mötley Crüe, OZZY, and Lynyrd Skynyrd "freebird" and some SRV that's all your really need.

They now have WiFi and Verizon cell service at Fontana but I think the the best part of MOTD is you can be "unplugged" from the phone and the Internet for a week and just hang out with friends.

While there is service there are so many devices vying for the limited bandwidth you might as well shut them off.

Speaking for myself, at 54, probably yes, I am old. Of course, you're as old as the woman you feel... (or the car you drive...).

Music-wise... I am certainly old! The last few tunes that I've purchased on ITunes have been from the Faces, Badfinger, Count Five, Norman Greenbaum, and George Harrison. I already have everything put out by Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Stones, Pink Floyd, The Who, and the Kinks.

While Grace Slick was definitely hot 40 years ago, these days she looks like Grandpa Munster. Back then, I preferred Michelle Philips - Now she was HOT!

I usually bring the following in some form or another.

AC/DC-anything by them really but always, High Voltage, BiB, Highway

    SRV-'nuff said

John Lee Hooker (couple of albums, especially "Hooker n Heat" with Canned Heat)

    Little Feat- Waiting for Columbus

Zep- I like the new "re-mastered" versions Jimmy Page has been releasing of the albums

Pink Floyd- Animals, Dark Side, Wish You Were Here

plus lots of assorted blues, rock from the 20s to the 70s (been on an old blues kick lately, big Joe Turner, Wynonie Harris, Lightin Hopkins..)

    those are staples for the trip and driving to and from Dragon;

but while on it, like Dave said, "windows open, radio off, listening for that whine and those tires..."

They do work if you are walking around Fontana, but since you are up in the hills the distance may be a lot shorter especially if you go out for a drive.

Also I would not use any FRS/GMRS while driving on the Dragon as it requires 100% of your respect and attention.

The life you may save could be your own.

    But then this happened...

It purports to be anti-commercial but reeks of '80s corporate-rock commercialism. It's a real reflection of what practically killed rock music in the '80s

I bought a cheap Sirius receiver and installed in the glove box and activate it in April for 5 months on one of their " come back to us promotions" then when 5 months is up I let it expire then next spring do it again. That way I can get my tunes while in No Mans Land.
