Snooter - thanks for all your hard work, MOTD was wonderful and everyhing ran smoothly. Here is a video report we made of MOTD on Miniology.com. As a newbie to MOTD I got some of the facts and locations wrong, but I hope I caught the mood. I will be prepared for next year [ame=http://vimeo.com/23093793]Miniology TV Minis On The Dragon small on Vimeo[/ame] Thanks again to all that made this such a great experience! OK........seems if a Shasta CA owner can make it to MOTD a guy from Bend OR should at least try to. So Pooper, how long did it take to get there?
Just head toward NC now and you should be fine. I know it is a haul for you west coasters, but it is an event to remember. Jim
Jim, You are so right, its worth the trek. Great event. This next year we will start organizing a caravan from the west coast. Scott I will start mapping out a route and figure about 350+ to 450 miles per day (2500 total) with some stops for points on interest, food, gas, and potty breaks. Maybe we can work a deal with a hotel chain like Best Western or Holiday Inn. Return can be optional for those wanting to take an alternate longer route. So figure about 6 days to get there. Or if we had enough we could contract car hauler and take maybe 10 Minis at a time. Norm
Great idea. It would be nice to see more of the west cost folks at MOTD. I hope t can be worked out. Jim
If you guys come all this way you should try to stay all week. I hear it's really nice early in the week when the roads are empty. We'll be there on Monday next year.
Cool pictures. I saw you and I saw your car, but not at the same time, so I did not know it was you I saw, which I would have had you both been together at the same time. ut: I like the way you had the trim rings on the dash wrapped. Did you do that? Jim
Hey Jim I removed the chrome trimline and painted it with Krylon Fusion. The Krylon is made for shiny surfaces so it doesn't need any more prep then a good cleaning. I still need to do the Tach, the paint takes about 6 - 8 hours to dry well enough to install it so I need a day that I won't be driving so that I can take the Tach apart, paint the ring and then get it back together 6 - 8 hours later. Ali
If you try it, be sure to post pictures. If you re-use the pieces you already have, you really want to get them clean of any goo or dust before painting them. They need to be squeaky clean. Ali
