- Highlands Smokehouse in Highlands, NC
- Nightly shenanigans around the the asphalt firepit (thanks to S2 for the firepit)
- Hiking my fat-@$$ to the top of Clingman's Dome.
- Everyone (in my group) making it home in one piece.

 

In no particular order....

The drive back across the Foothills Parkway.

Dinners at the Ballfield House with that indigenous attitude.

The volunteers at Registration, never a dull moment.

Turning off 28 into Fontana Village at the bottom of the hill when arriving. The mindset changes completely coming up that hill and seeing the cabins.

Chad fixing Gnat at MOTD, again.

 

I love the GOT reference

 

1. 'Burgher Run coming off SO well. I haven't had a burger since. SO good!

2. Finding out that my Mini's engine is fine, and getting the exhaust issue squared away in order to get home (thank you Chad/Detroit Tuned and Dave/DTMWorks! Thanks also to Eric at Helix & Lenny at G4)

3. Tunnels on the way home with the DDMWorks prototype exhaust
("Is that Sebastian Vettel on my tail? No, it's just your Mini pipes!")

4. A certain number finally showing up at Dragon Bingo!

5. Late nights at the PittStop cabin with my Mini family.

 

Little late but whatever.

1. Hanging out with friends in our driveway drinking every night with our fire pit without a cat.
2. See old friends and meeting / making new ones.
3. DONUT RUN ! DONUT RUN ! DONUT RUN !
4. Southern BBQ
5. Going on fun runs with friends and having great group meals at our hose and Wellzy's.

 

Top Five (that's going to be hard to trim down to five)

#5 Burger Run!

#4 Late nights at the PittStop cabin

#3 Mini Bingo! (fyi, I'm ok)

#2 (20) Dragon Runs! (440 miles on the Dragon)

And the number one best thing about MOTD 11 - Spending time with my dragon wife and dragon family

PS; I have work in SC on 5/29, taking the long way home, booked a room at Deal's Gap

 

Top 5 for me:
1. A long "guys" weekend with my son.
2. Donut Run (and the return across Foothills)
3. Burger Run (an annual highlight)
4. Hangin' at the Helix/MA/RMW house (the best fireworks spot in the Village)
5. Spending another MOTD with MoM

 

Top 5 (in no particular order)

- Saturday drive on Cherohala in the rain
- Donut run
- Thursday Brewery drive
- 2nd annual leftover jambalaya dinner at MoM cabin #1
- Watching automotive mud wrestling late Saturday night :wink:

Top 5 for me? Can't really say I just like the hole event the friends, the beer,the driving, it is the best 4 day party of the year. Can't wait to next year!!

* Building friendships with the BRM + Mark2 gang

* Growlers and moonshine and fireworks

* Lots of great driving, as always

* Hanging with my brother from another mother for a few days

 

Hard to limit it to just 5 things, but here goes:

1. Getting there on Friday and enjoying some time with the Better Half
2. SSM Pre-Party on Tuesday
3. Seeing all the familiar faces and meeting new folks
4. The natural beauty of the area. (mountains, waterfalls, etc)
5. Seeing everyone else have a good time.
