Sounds like you'll be fine. Had my wife and Chihuahua on the Dragon last Fall. My wife held on to the handhold as though her life depended on it. She said she was still feeling a little strange a couple of hours later after we finished a run. Took the dog several days later to become normal. This year, the wife gets to go, but the dog stays home.
One of my MINI-Poopers does fine in the twisties, the other one is the poster child for the term "hang-dog-look".....but neither one of them upchucks, she just looks as miserable as she can till we stop and she can get out and run around a bit - then she's fine again. Nothing says anyone will get sick on the dragon's turns, I never have either....but some people seem suseptible to it.
I've been lucky and only "almost" got sick one time on the Dragon. It was early morning after the BrewSwap as a passenger. I really didn't have much to drink but I think the half glass of wine on top of a couple beers was the kicker! When Rick drives I take pictures, look out front and back and all over. Only bad that one time!
I think that a lot depends on how hard you hit the turns. I heard that one of the tuner shop guys (maybe Chad from Detroit Tuned) gave an interested motorcyclist a ride and got him to beg to pull over in 3 miles. On one late night run, Haemish was behind me in Mr. OEM and a passenger who had never even been car sick in the slightest lost it, even when strapped down with a 4-point harness. These are just cautionary tales... Just be sensible, take care of yourself and pull over for a rest when you feel the need. Personally, if I am charging down the Dragon hard, I stop for 10 min on either side to stretch, cool the car and get myself back to 100%. I have met some wonderful folks at the pull-offs and even shot some video for 2 brothers down from Canada on their bikes and emailed the footage to em. The roads are great, but they aren't everything!
About 3 years ago, I did a solo ride about 6:30am and had the Dragon to myself and hit it so hard I got queezy and had to pull over. I think I would have done better if I wasn't on a empty stomach.

My wife swears by ginger. Ginger Ale, Ginger candy, or even ginger pills in the vitamin isle. Or all the above on a bumpy approach into Chicago (and the Dragon I suspect, it's our first year!).
Don't know about Chad's rider, but on a midnight run several years ago, I picked up a biker at Deal's Gap as a passenger. He was fine on the outbound trip, but he had to stop 2x on the way back to hurl. Edit: Don't know the state of his inebriation or lack thereof.
Ugh, the dragon is the only road as driver that makes me sick. But needless to say it does. I think motion sickness fall into two bucket (yah pun intended). Either physical, or psychological, granted it's still all in your brain. It seems if you get physical motion sickness from your body telling you one thing, and your brain telling your another, things like the bands, ginger and such seem to do the trick. But if you are like me, and you can get motion sickness on Star Tours at Disney Land, well then it's all up in your head and nothing may work. As long as I don't know that I am moving, I never get motion sickness. I can be below deck on a boat in heavy waves, or on a plane with turbulance and not feel a thing. But if I watch 10 minutes of a dragon video, I will start chewing bile. I have tried the bands, the oil behind the ears, limited drugs (make me very sleepy), goofy sharka stuff, in the end most of these just delay the outcome, but it always seems to happen. So... I have embranced my motion sickness with a badge of honor. When I owned a boat, I would proudly hang my head over the side, when I attempted flying lessons I brought my own sickness bags, and as a dragon vetran I will be either down in the river at the turn around, or just up the drive accross from Deals Gap. See you sickies there!!!
My psycho ex-girlfriend would drug herself up real good to ride along. She was a trooper. Or maybe she was just looking for one more thing to ***** about.
^ Good one, Paul. Maybe she was also looking for a reason to take lots of drugs :cornut: I like that wrist braclet idea. I'll try it this year. Last year was my 1st Dragon, and I was walking real slow after that first drive
Thank goodness I'm not bringing my GPS (Global Philippine Spokesperson) or my Side-Seat Driver...I need my quiet time to focus on driving. :arf:
In 20 years of riding up on the hill with me, my wife has found three things that work. Dramamine (which just knocks her out. She literally slept from Cheoah Dam to the Foothills Parkway one time) is one of them. Another is ginger pills. She says they work just as well as Dramamine without making her sleepy. The last is for me to go faster. Seriously. She says that the faster I run it the easier it is on her stomach. Slow down and she gets quite green. I've been keeping barf bags in my cars for about the past 15 years since I had a friend who had not one, but two people make his windshield opaque on a run.
Wow... That painted a picture that made me look around for my sea bands and I'm just sitting at my desk! Really, people... roll down a window. I don't wanna be cleaning your breakfast out of my defroster vents!
Thanks for the tips. I've been to MoTD and never have an issue. My husband didn't love it as a passenger so he bought his own MINI Countryman this year . My daughter will be coming with us this year for the first time and is insisting that she is going to ride the Dragon with me. I think I'll buy a pack of those seabands and toss in the glove box for good measure. Annette
