Ok, I have an idea. Yes, hard to believe, since my only purpose here is to hijack threads rather than create them, but there it is.

Anyway, the MINI of the Month thing died a sordid death. It was probably time. But I remember that nice little banner, Mini of the month winner underneath the winners name, and we do so much off topic stuff, how about a few other awards, all officiated by Nate so the decisions are final:

The obvious one: Motoring Alliance 2015 F1 champion, since there is a hardcore following.

Prior to next season, everyone picks the top 5 finishers in points for the 2015 season. You have to pick the winner, then the person with the most correct choices wins the honor, and the title, for that year, underneath their name. If Nate could make a pm link for it--I think the results should go in privately and not be displayed until all entries are in by the given date, at which point they go public. Follow all season long, at the end, winner takes bragging rights. Be kinda cool.

This could also be done for Nascar, and Indy, although I'm not sure the interest is there.

This could also work for the 2015 Super Bowl Winner (Pick the two conference championship games, super bowl winner, score as a tie-breaker should be enough to seperate out a champion), 2015 College Football National Championship, NBA, Soccer, whatever. That's probably too many, maybe stick with no more than four a year, or maybe just the F-1 one, whatever. I'm personally opposed to too many awards and everyone gets a ribbon mentality; it takes away from winning. And let's face it. There's a ton of stupid people out there. I doubt giving them a ribbon will make up for that, or make them feel any less stupid.

Personally, I think F-1 and the Superbowl, as well as World Cup Soccer when it's a championship year, are the biggies, and would make for a nice little banner for those who win.

Just a thought.

 

Nah, the F-1 thing isn't. It goes for a period of time, and it's a good thread. The others might be, but no more than the Mini of the Month thing. And remind me, who has that banner?:biggrin5:

 

Yeah I noticed that. I also noticed that you can't edit the thread title once you put the HTML thing in. You'd think someone around here who can would be kind enough to fix it, but noooooooooo!:mad2:


As for Dave, he hasn't met his daily quota of disagreements, so he had to pick up a few somewhere. I'm just happy I could contribute.

Since this is going nowhere, can I have a banner for "Worst thread of 2015"?

 

Now that's a thought...

It'd have to have parameters, like it could only be won once a year, otherwise we might as well give it to Barry every month and call it day. At the end of the year, we could vote on the "winners" and have a Motor On champion of the year. Probably need to do it every two months though, monthly is probably too much.
