Detroit Tuned and my guys from Bavarian Repair will be there. They'll have any tool's she may require if something goes wrong. I've not had anything go wrong at the past 2 MOTD's, this one I trust will be the same. ((knocks on wood))

N14 owners :) There's plenty of idiots out there driving all generations, but I'd say the younger/newer/less experienced crowd is in the 2nd gens as they're the cheapest (now) and most readily available. The dumbest vehicle operators I've had the most close calls with at the Dragon are motorcycle drivers. Last year I almost clipped 2 of them who's tires were on their side of the mustard, but the top half was about to smash into my headlight. If you're on 2 wheels, how do you manage to make your bike so damn big you need to lean over the yellow?! After my first Dragon's close calls, I drive safe so I don't wreck my car. Even at my 2nd I almost slid off the side at Crud Corner, but luckily my tires caught grip right at the edge and saved me from some embarrassment and possibly an insurance claim :)

One year a guy on a sport bike hit the inside of a corner so hard it split his bike in half

I would agree - as cars that are fun to drive slide down in value you will get young drivers. I would probably be considered one of those dudes about 20 years ago..hmm.. I'm getting old. Specifically when I was running motorcycles on the Loop (US 129, 80, 60) in N. Georgia. If you don't know those roads they are a blast. There previously was a "hotel/camp" there called TWO (Two Wheels Only). One day late in the afternoon I was running with some folks who were real racers.. was over my head, knee on the ground and decided my road bike was a better off road vehicle. Got lucky as I "chose" the mountain side versus the cliff side. Only things hurt was side panels, leathers and pride. Never went back.. instead fixed the bike and went to the track. Best decision on of my life.

Lol - I'm about the least politically correct person. I'm also a red head and left handed, so I can't get offended anymore. Ultimately - we don't want people driving outside their bounds or as if it is a race track.

Either way, I'll be happy to see all generations. Frankly not even sure why there is a "generation" conversation anymore. Its a brand, classic, previous and future. We each will have models we prefer. No value in poking at everyone who drives a specific MINI model. However - other brands are totally OK:

That wasn't fair.. so here you go.

Also - before anyone makes a "ginger" joke... I do follow the stereotype that red heads have bad tempers... (J/K).

Oh no, the new holder of the forum keys is a ginger that came with faulty wiring from the factory and lives in the biggest transit F-up on the map, we really are doomed! But so far I do kinda like the guy...

If y’all think that MINI’s have bad apples on the Dragon, please don’t even bother coming when some of the other groups are in town. The sports bikes are bad, but not quite the worst... The Sport/Touring crossover bikes are the worst by a pretty considerable margin.

I went over the side in 2015 in the Rat at mile 5.5 avoiding what would’ve been a pretty bad wreck. It was because of a GP-1 who was stopped mid corner after that short straight. I remember my speedo saying up around 80 in that straight and about 60 when I saw his marker lights... I had two choices: Hit him, take out both cars, and probably injure someone else and myself at the same time... Or lay on the brakes and hope for the best... From my skidmarks which made Killboy’s Pic of the week, I can even say that I was being a little too stupid on a public road.

Do I still push the Dragon hard? Sure do on occasion, but most of the time I actually drive it, I have plenty of fun keeping things around 40~50... But most of the time I avoid the Dragon all together now after living here. It’s just another road full of tourists, living the fast life, seeing what they can do and how many limits they can push... Sometimes they make it, sometimes they don’t, and I don’t want to be the guy just heading to Home Depot that gets caught in the middle.

Lol thanks!... and very faulty wiring. :Alien:

When you say over the side, did you go down the hill? I got super lucky one time. Was around 19 up in the mountains at soccer camp. About 10PM we needed some food so went to the store. On the way back, the driver mentioned he knew a great road and we went. The driver started pushing it. Going through and outside kink he lost the rear end.. we went off the side backwards and were sliding down the mountain.... then boom we stopped. I looked back (top was down) and a pretty small tree was bent over and had stopped us. We both bailed out of the car. Long story is we were on a very quite road. Walked back a few miles (pre-cell phones). Called a tow truck. When we described it he said, yup he knew the place. Happens all the time and we were lucky. Pulled the car out etc.. went back the next day. There was a big drop off about 20 yards below us. Had we not hit that tree... one less ginger would be here... young, dumb, invincible. :Whistling:

Got my car back from Helix today and damn she runs nice and smooth with even more power. Now I just need to clean / polish the refurbished summer wheels and ceramic coat them with Gyeon. I have a few little odds and ends stuff but I am ready for the Dragon.

Nice - afraid to say my car will be basically how I purchased it I think. On the road next 6 weeks straight.. plus weekend events (Camping this weekend with Boy Scouts). Going to be tough to move that along. Would love to have you look at a few things from a detailing perspective and provide some advice.. if you have time and are interested.

Sure thing, I can check out your car detailing wise and provide advice. We can do it over a few beers, if you drink.

Our cabin is 485, which is right across the the street on the corner from the entrance the cars use for the group photo on the ball field.

Lee, that would be the one... As always! Anyone know what happened to all the banners that were normally hanging off the house?

Chuck, I look (glanced really) over all 10,000 pictures in my old phone but no luck. I know I posted them here multiple times in my old posts...

Sully, I believe you underestimate what exactly our livers are still capable of... With a statement like that, you’re gonna need to rent an F-series Clubman.

Last day of MOTD 2015, the pictures didn’t go up until late that day or the day after...
