Given that 20% chance of rain for any given day is almost required at this time of year, I agree. Not too bad so far.
Not getting better on Fri/Sat. Even Thursday (which was sunny) is being downgraded. Of course, weather forecasts are almost always wrong at Fontana, so the worse this gets, the better the real weather will be!
The weather changes at Fontana every half hour so don’t worry about the weather. The forecast are almost always WRONG1 Me and God are buddies and since I will be at the Dragon it will be sunny again.
Me and God are buddies and since I will be at the Dragon it will be sunny again. BWAHAHAHAHAHAH--bring your rail gear...
Yeah I have been their through all the crap weather and I always stay. I have still been to more great weather dragons than bad weather ones.
Don’t expect everything to be as green as normal this year. Everything is blooming very slowly... Most of the trees on my way to work are still 80% bare, but a lot of the underbrush took off this past week. The Azelea bushes next to my house still aren’t even at full bloom, and last year the flowers were already falling off during MOTD! I’ve got two more days at work then all of next week off, so I will see everyone as you trickle in as usual... Don’t really miss the 24 hour cross country sprint to get to Fontana, but I’ve gotta say that for some reason I haven’t been as excited about everything this year. The BBQ at my place is still on for Friday (Any time to Any time) but we might have the rabid 5 year old running around... Still trying to see if his dad will take him early. Hopefully the storms like we had here on Monday morning don’t decide to show back up next week... We had a tree fall on one of the cabins where I work! Had a big mess to clean up, but got it handled. The entire left side of the back porch will be getting replaced in a few weeks. Oh, and there’s still a little light construction going on in my bathroom, so don’t mind the mess if you come over... But hey, it’s a lot better than it was a couple months ago. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Wow - I actually kind of expected more damage from a tree like that.. hope no-one was in the cabin when it happened!
Hey Rick, we will be staying in Alcoa at the same place Sunday night and rolling into Fontana Monday mid morning.
Daily weather update for MOTD... forecast is improving. The thunderstorms have been removed and % chance of rain is decreasing. Apparently my strongly worded letter to weather.com had an effect!
The only problem with that is, we will probably be miles apart, with trees in the roadway. Sooo, Brian and I are bringing our own saws...we sure don't want to go thru what we did last year on the Dragon while the weather was cranking up.
Weather forecast seems to be stabilizing: mostly cloudy with 20%-ish chance of rain Lows in the 50s and highs in the upper 70s. Basically spring in the Smoky Mountains!
NAM will have a tent there too this year. Are we gonna have a gang fight like West Side Story? Are we the Sharks or the Jets?
