Nice meeting you my friend. Hope the trip home was better than your last Dragon run. After a couple round trips on the reptile and the Pitts-Burger Run I am slap wore out. The Grandson and I are enjoying the A/C right now and don’t plan to venture out tonight. Tomorrow the Dragonfire Run in the AM, and Dyno at 1520. My buddy Dan was turned away from the dyno because they can’t get it to read an auto transmission. Said they’d tried a couple that didn’t work right so they just refuse to test the autos now. If that’s the case I might be able to get mine done earlier.
In eventful drive home, except for the brain dead drivers. I can’t wait to hear the dyno goes! It was good to meet. We need to find a good middle ground to all get together. I know at @Sully place!
Agreed - and yes we can do my place if that works or some place in the middle.. we should get together and run the loop (60, 129, 180).
I wasn't familiar with that... looked it up. That looks like a great road. 32 Miles and 438 curves... We have to plan for that one!
Disappointed. 233/247 at the wheel. I think my waste gate is fluttering because it starts, for lack of a better description, farting at around 5K. Not real sure about the dyno either because they said as of late Saturday the highest hp they'd registered was 240. Also on the 2.0 the torque figures are usually separated by a lot more than that. My iPad took a crap and I couldn't log the runs so sometime I need to log a few runs and send them to ByteTronik and see what they think.
Agreed - I would take the numbers as.. "suggested".. seemed like that dyno was having some issues. Talked to a few folks who pulled their cars off and had some odd numbers. I think you also mentioned that they couldn't automatics.. not sure it was 100%
How did your BBQ Bash go. The food sure did look good. Wish I could have made it. I didn't get to see you this year, but maybe we'll meet next year. Hope your Smokey Mountain life continues to go well.
Don’t forget the dyno was at over 1,895 feet above sea level and I bet it was not calibrated correctly to account for the altitude. Yes I checked the altitude at the dyno while I was at Fontana. My place in the burbs is only 340 ft above sea level.
A TON of non-vendors were parking in that area so Lee is justified in parking there, too, since he represents M/A!.
Thanks for the info Dave. It never even crossed my mind. If it had it would have been a short trip. Honestly I doubt anything was set up correctly. For some reason they couldn't test newer cars with automatic transmissions either. It was good to finally put a face to the name, and to see your Mistress. Beautiful car.
OK - so was looking for "drives" of Back of the Dragon.. and this came up. Its 100% off topic for MOTD.. but I found it funny it came up on youtube.. Pretty good/funny watch if you know the story.
r52coop said: ↑ Hmmm, that looks like the Helmet is parked in the "designated vendor parking" . . . . It was an inside joke as there was no designated vendor parking. I asked Barry while dealing on the tent "Are there designated parking spaces for the vendors?" to which he replied "Yes, we have vendor alley." Then you get there, ask him where this designated parking is and he says there isn't any.
WOO-HOO, The M/A tent collected $144.00 for the Graham County Food Bank. And...a good time was had by all.
I caught Goldsmithy at the tent... we had a nice talk and I got to see all of the crazy engine bay mods he's done. I also dropped by to say a quick Hi to Dave. Sorry to have missed Sully... It's amazing how small Fontana is but how many people I go looking for and can't find. They need a comprehensive wifi system and an app so you can track your friends down easily.
