Barry who? If your looking for Barry of MC2 try looking on a Milk Carton. We have moved on and made this thread interesting.

Watching my fingernails grow and Cheech and Chong is better than anything in MC2.

Maybe we should call it M2C since everything else is spelled wrong in that rag.

Didn't MC2 go out of business?? I was sure they did or were just about to. Must have if they aren't paying their bills. RIP MC2.

No bawwy is still in business somehow just like ALTA.

I saw the latest issue at Helix last week and the funny thing was the issue was late for being the July/Aug issue.

Glad I don't pay for that rag anymore. Oh I did see that the girl that did the 3 point turn on the Dragon in her Blue / Pink flamed car with the big chrome wheels. lol

I have a unique way of discussing the well known "Barry's" of the MINI world.

There is Barry the Good - aka Snooter, Mr, MOTD and Barry the Bad. I use that in my private writings. Not anymore, it's public now.

So Anyway...Barry the Bad, he's angling for a cash infusion these days.

Even if Barry the Bad did get this grant I bet he'd still stiff the contributors.

Oh and Barry the Bad, if you read this or get told about, then come here to read this, and think I am standing behind the 1st Amendment as you have claimed to others that I do...learn to read.

The first 5 words are "Congress shall make no law" This ain't Congress here, the 1st Amendment does not apply. Therefore, ergo, ipsum factum, Nabisco, Domino, E pluribus unum, your claim of me hiding behind the 1st Amendment is not true.

I got the email and read it as a solicitation I had no interest in. Having had my hands in grant writing and having successfully received a few, there's always a catch or at least a matching funds requirement of some sort. I'm certain I could be wrong without knowing the full details of his opportunity. However, I'm skeptical at best... Therefore, I'm out.

Sad thing...after having read this thread, is that this type of thing is done in many different industries....
In aviation, many folks work for free, or nearly so, "paying their dues" or blatently getting taken advantage of, while a few profit off their dreams and skills...
Sure we all pay "dues" in certain industries, but those who promise more, then fail to deliver are
    1) at best extrodnarily poor buisniness owners...
    2) at worst a thief....
Usually IMO the truth is Usually somewhere in the middle....
But in ANY CASE, the word should be spread!!!
Nobody is perfect, and when honest mistakes happen, honest folks do the "right" thing, and do their best to pay or make a payment plan, or cease operations....
In this case, I view it as a small pyramid scheme....
Sell some subscriptions, get some $$, sell some advertising...make a few copies with free/stolen stories....their friends join...cycle continues...with some $$ getting skimmed off each time....
A poorly run hobby...perhaps...but the length of the operation tells me more...and the slow windown of the issues.....
Sure it might be more hobby time, blood, sweat, and tears than a ongoing magazine....run out of a shoebox....but when an individual calls on others to HIDE THEIR ACTIONS and SUPRESS info and delete posts that could have prevented others from getting ripped off...
THAT IS CRIMINAL. Hope those involved know that.....
Ethically and morally it is wrong....and deleting posts in a group is a VERY SLIPPERY slope LEGALLY...AND it lt makes the editor libel....
100% thumbs up to Nathan for taking the high road, and doing the right thing IMO, both in operation of this site, and other matters as they have come up!! May you Karmha be paid back in dpades!!
Mr Barry, and his associates....not so much...your editing may have caused others to make descesions that changed their lives in a bad way.....building a portfolio is one thing... Giving stuff away is another when those involved have no intention of paying.
    nuff said...end the rant-omatic!!

Yeah but if the paper in the magazine was perforated and a bit softer, the third thing on your list would be taken care of.

I got the email a few days ago, almost posted it here, but I'm lazy--it was good for a laugh for the day.

I think we all should donate--if he can get the hundred and fifty grand, he'll probably buy a Porsche and leave the MINI world altogether. IMHO, 150,000K is a reasonable sum for THAT outcome....
