Dallas to Indy. Going to Columbus would add another 200 or so miles and I need to be in Indy Monday AM to change the break in oil.

We drove the track back in '81 during the Car Craft magazine Street Machine Nationals. The 500 track is massive. I've raced on lots of smaller ovals, but the track is big it's like driving on the Interstate. Still super impressive. Wait ti;; you drive past the grandstands. Make sure to snap a shot looking down pit road. Y'all will have a blast!

Indy Cars were named after the track...Although I am not a fan of the IRL *spits* (Champ Car was my league) or Nascar, you can't help the historic significance of the Brickyard.

Wow. Waiting 2 hours to take a lap around Indy. Maybe a few laps, but everyone is saying a, one, singular, only one man, lap around Indy. OK, so it's a famous track with a long history.

I might have to do something else.

I think the whole point is to be able to say you did a lap at Indy (because of the history), not win the 500:rolleyes5:

Yea, do it. If you're not a race fan, I can understand the significance, though. Personally, I'd jump at the chance again. Even if was only at 70 MPH. It was still cool. Though the banking at Southern National Speedway in Kenly, NC has lots more banking and was fun to race on. The Brickyard, was impressive!

I made it, sorry I cut in line to get off the track. Poor little classic didn't like the heat and was going to overheat if I sat any longer. And that would have ruined any chances of us ever doing this again.

Hard to tell but I think that's me in the pic with you. My son asked me what you were doing and I told him you were probably getting too hot and couldn't wait in traffic. I doubt anyone held it against you - we were just glad you brought it out.

I'll second the no one holding it against you. I think it was pretty obvious that there was some amount of distress going on, even if it wasn't evident what that distress was. Hope the car's alright, and that it was worth bringing it out!
