One of my favorite Beatles songs. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaRz-3DYV7c"]Hey Bulldog[/ame]
A few of my favorites at the moment. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BTHExY2mjI[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pwzyj71vzK0[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMOBSFF45ls[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3--mytp02kk[/ame]
Lately I've been going back and exploring my collection of early alternative music. An early trendsetter, precursor to the Seattle scene [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9uUmz7xyJA[/ame] Very early version ... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBmMl7ocUuE[/ame] And one of the bands that started it all.. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNKSs1J38EA[/ame]
Oh yeah, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention one of the best bands no one has heard of. This is a perfect pop song too. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRK2o3EkOUw[/ame]
I remember NRBQ. I got two new (to me) albums in this week....nice change of pace. Ted Hawkins was a busker in Venice Beach, CA. He rarely recorded and his most 'successful' US work was done months before he passed. Simple guitar but powerful voice. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-BfTEKizjQ[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUzjbHvwHoE[/ame] And Narciso Yepes, classical Spanish guitar. I remember him from an album my dad brought home as a kid from his stops overseas while in the USN. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_ue0sadJF0[/ame]
I think it is obvious what kind of music I prefer. These three trance songs feature excellent melodic pulses. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEsi6iD7OhQ[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=so5l3FdN4s8[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UkU9B3MO2g[/ame] Great vocals on this one. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LafgOfKsxUc[/ame] Exquisite ambient tune here. Definitely worth a listen. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28ppFPDIR8U[/ame]
Two amazing tracks here. I bought the 2 disk compilation album just for these songs. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P05YZR-Urwo[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0C5_04HFrU[/ame]
Whoa, I've never seen a guitar like that one before. Unless I missed it he only used the first 6 strings. I have large hands and I have enough trouble with just 6 on my electrics.....can't imagine how the heck you reach those upper strings!!!! :skep: ----------------- edit: Watched it again and I take part of that back. He does play the upper strings (right hand) but I don't think he gets to those upper string frets (left hand).
A little out there but I stumbled across this on Youtube and remembered how much I enjoyed this particular one when I was a kid: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwtVpOU_als[/ame]
Don't know why these guys never made it. Were big in Mid-Atlantic are in the late 70's-early 80's. All kinds of great tunes with killer hooks and intelligent lyrics. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T93UZ-RylgQ[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCansyY0YUM[/ame]
Caught this on HBO a little while ago. Been watching it on YouTube ever since. Tom Morello is ridiculous on a guitar: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JChuUgio_8g[/ame]
Interesting songs every posted. Not really my style though. --------- Above & Beyond pres. OceanLab - I Am What I Am (Lange Remix) [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNhUfy8qHX0[/ame] This is perhaps one of the greatest vocal trance songs I've ever heard. And I've been listening to DI.fm's Vocal Trance channel almost not stop since 2005. --------- MaRLo feat. Kristin Marlo - Is It Real (Summer Mix) [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DYTW-WkPdg[/ame] Superb vocals on this one and best use of mashed up vocals ever, plus good use of techno strings and re-verb pulses, the bass really carries the song through the middle.
Nebeshin, You familiar with the radio show Echos? Echoes with John Diliberto Have no idea if the signal reaches you but its on KUNC 90.5FM Mon-Th 10pm-1am, Sun 9pm-12mid
I am not. I think 90.5 is the University radio station. I remember it always had interference with NPR, 91.1, while I was resting in the library between classes. Maybe my mp3 player's radio function wasn't good enough. I did have an old extendable metal antenna I used to hold in my hand with the player. The player uses its metal exterior and your body as it's antenna. It seems like they play some good stuff. I wish we had a station that plays electronic music.
Some great male vocals in these two. Gabriel & Dresden feat. Jan Burton - Dangerous Power (Cicada Mix) [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vah26bX-N74[/ame] Ronski Speed - The Space We Are (John O' Callaghan Remix) [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVtGcG2lI8E&fmt=18[/ame]
Here is a great song for a little interstate driving.... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68C-r9kSLNE[/ame]
